Event formats

Virbe avatars have been deployed at events and conferences across Europe in three distinct formats: venue navigation, conference assistance, and enterprise digital clones. Each deployment demonstrates a different facet of how conversational avatars create value in live, high-density environments.

VR Days Rotterdam

A Virbe avatar was positioned at the event entrance and common areas, serving as a real-time navigation assistant for over 1,000 attendees.

What the avatar did

  • Venue navigation — helped attendees find sessions, exhibitor booths, facilities, and meeting points across the event space
  • Session discovery — recommended talks and workshops based on attendee interests and the live schedule
  • Exhibitor information — provided details about exhibiting companies, their locations, and what they were showcasing

Engagement layer

An "Easter egg" challenge was embedded in conversations. Attendees who found hidden keywords during their interactions with the avatar unlocked prizes — creating a word-of-mouth loop that drove more attendees to engage with the kiosk.

This gamification layer turned a utilitarian wayfinding tool into a social talking point, with attendees sharing tips about where to find the hidden keywords.

Main stage appearance

The avatar appeared on the main stage during a live demonstration session in front of the full VR Days audience, showcasing the technology's capabilities and reliability in a high-pressure, live environment.

AIverse / Naoko Conferences

Virbe avatars were deployed as conference assistants at AIverse and Naoko events, providing:

  • Agenda navigation — helping attendees browse the schedule, find specific sessions, and plan their day
  • Speaker information — bios, session descriptions, and topic summaries for all speakers on the programme
  • Session recommendations — suggesting relevant talks based on the attendee's stated interests or professional background

These deployments demonstrated how an avatar can replace the traditional conference app or printed programme with a conversational interface that adapts to each attendee's needs.

PwC Germany — Employee Digital Clone

PwC deployed a Virbe avatar built as a digital clone of one of their own employees. The kiosk was positioned at a client event, allowing attendees to interact with a lifelike representation of the PwC team member.

What the digital clone did

  • Answered questions about PwC services, capabilities, and the event agenda
  • Represented the team member's expertise — drawing on their professional background and knowledge areas
  • Engaged event attendees in natural conversation, creating a memorable and distinctive touchpoint at the PwC stand

This deployment demonstrated the power of personalised avatar deployment for high-trust enterprise environments. Rather than a generic assistant, attendees interacted with a recognisable individual — building familiarity and trust in a way that a branded chatbot never could.

Why events are a proving ground

Live events are one of the most demanding environments for conversational AI:

  • High foot traffic with no time for onboarding or tutorials
  • Diverse audiences speaking different languages and asking unpredictable questions
  • Zero tolerance for downtime — the kiosk must work reliably for hours under continuous use
  • Public visibility — every interaction happens in front of other potential users

Virbe's event deployments have consistently demonstrated that the platform performs under these conditions, making events a natural showcase for enterprise buyers evaluating the technology for their own environments.
